|
The purpose of this study is to examine a relative effect of depression variable on suicide ideation of the rural elderly and relation between the variable and the others suicide ideation relative variables. By the hierarchical regression, depression(β=.63), faith on family(β=-.13) variables affect the suicide ideation of the rural elderly. Depression turns out to be the most
crucial effect on the that and explain absolutely 28% R2 of 42% total R2. On the meanwhile, sex, economic level, mental healthy, self-esteem, and local society activity degree variables indirectly affect the suicide ideation by influencing depression variable. These results contribute to extend understanding of the suicide ideation of the rural elderly, and suggest some plans for the Korean rural elderly in terms of prevention and therapy on the basis of the findings.
